Team Training includes Esthetic Dentistry

For two weekends in March, Dr. Markus, Dr. Phillips, Dr. Scott and the entire team participated in 16 nour marathon training sessions in current cosmetic dental techniques.  Dr. Markus has shared his experience with Dr. Robert Maher of Palm Desert, CA.  Dr. Maher and his lab technician have come east to share their expertise with us.  In one weekend we attended lectures, and performed extensive cosmetic dentistry on several patients who were selected for the experience.  If you, or someone you know are interested in extensive dentistry at a slight discount, there may be future weekends planned.  Financial need must be verified.

Training is a fundamental factor in our ability to remain at the cutting edge of our profession.  In addition to on-going on-line training, the team at The Centre for Dentistry have taken some of the following courses:

1. CPR recertification is done every 24 months.  The entire team was recertified last summer.
2. Dental Book Kamp (see other article) – By the end of April, the entire team will have received 3 days of training from the people at DBK enhancing our communication skills
3. Dr. Markus, Scott and Phillips are all members of the South Jersey Implant Study Group.  Dr. Markus presented two lectures to this organization.
4. Dr. Phillips is involved in the Branemark mini-residency, and has presented to this group.
5. Drs. Markus and Phillips have taken a course entitled “The Essentials for Oral Sedation”
6. The entire team received training in new dental materials from 3M.
7. We have all been trained in the fundamentals of Invisalign Orthodontics
8. Dr. Scott has also attended “Dental Materials for the New Millenium”
9. Gloria has taken “New World of Periodontal Medicine” with Dr. Markus
10. Many members of the team have taken Howard Farren’s “Business Administration” course
11. Rich has heard Dr. Carl Leinfelder speak on Dental Materials and has gone to the Dental Study Club of Boston’s “digital dental imaging” course
