The Centre Update - Fall '02
SNOOZE NEWS
It sounds like it comes from the dream book of every anxious dental patient
and yet it is here. Today, with just a few small pills it is possible to
have safe, comfortable dental care while you snooze. Not awake yet not asleep.
No Intravenous needles. No general anesthesia. No pain.
One of the greatest advancements in the treatment of the anxious patient
is now available at our office. Let me tell you how it works. Starting the
night before your appointment and on a carefully monitored schedule you
take a small pill.
This medication has been used for many years as an aid to sleeping and now,
with changes in dosage and monitoring with modern operating room equipment
it can be used to make you snooze through even the most demanding dental
procedures.
You are NOT PUT TO SLEEP!! In fact you can tune in to conversation and even
talk back to us. But you will have no anxiety AND you will not even remember
the appointment!! That's right. One of the most incredible aspects of this
technique is that you will not even remember that you were here.
I have shown this technique to a physician anesthesiologist who visited
my office as a skeptic. He left amazed that such a gentle method could accomplish
so much. He observed first hand an extremely nervous patient go for a snooze
and have all of their dentistry done in one visit. This method is especially
suited for having all of the dentistry in your whole mouth done in a minimum
number of visits.
If you, or if any one who you care about, family or friends, would like
to have dental care while snoozing we would be glad to help. Our whole staff
has been expertly trained to make this an easy, comfortable experience.
Please go to our thank you note page,
to read notes from patients who have undergone this simple procedure. Everyone
reading this must have at least five friends who are deathly afraid. What
a mitzvah it would be for you to tell them about sedation
dentistry.
