When you consider having your mercury fillings removed, you should always
have this done under maximum precautions. Whether you're doing this for health
reasons, or because you want better looking teeth, or because your dentist has
found cracks developing in your teeth, you want to make sure that the IAOMT
protocols for mercury removal are followed (Safe Removal of Amalgam Fillings).
What all patients need to see to make sure that their dentist is removing their mercury fillings appropriately.
When mercury fillings are drilled out of a tooth, a fine mix of mercury and
silver are deposited on the oral tissues. The floor of the mouth is very thin, and
that's why when a patient needs to take nitroglycerin for angina, they put the pill
under the tongue. The uptake is quite rapid. Mercury lying on the floor of the
mouth is taken into the body quite rapidly. Mercury vapor liberated during this process
can also be aspirated into the lungs, and follow the path of the olfactory (sense of smell)
nerve, to the brain. How Mercury Affects Brain Neurons
While we do no recommend the removal of existing mercury fillings on a wholesale basis,
we have not placed any mercury fillings since the early 90's. The reasons for this can be
found on the following links:
The symptoms of mercury toxicity are many, and are often easily confused with what
we consider a normal part of the aging process. We prefer, instead to leave it to the
holistic physicians that we work along with, to make a determination as to the level of
mercury toxicity, and then be able to measure the effects as the filling removal process
is coupled with chelation in their offices to remove mercury from the tissue.
Mercury is the most toxic naturally-occurring substance on the planet. It does not
belong implanted in anyone's mouth. Additionally, because mercury expands and contracts
with changes in temperature these fillings crack and break teeth. For example whenever you eat baked potato and sip a
cold beverage, or sip your coffee and eat ice cream, your mercury fillings are expanding
and contracting, and starting fractures in teeth. Sometimes these fractures are so severe
that the tooth is unsalvageable. Composite resin fillings, on the other hand are bonded to
teeth and help hold teeth together. We seldom see fractures in teeth filled with composite.
