Doctors:
Does United Concordia Make You See RED?
September 18, 2000
Dear,
Since early March our office has been corresponding with United Concordia
on your behalf. United Concordia has denied payment for treatment
which was rendered to you by our office. We have submitted narratives,
radiographs, and/or photos, which explain the necessity of your treatment. Unfortunately,
our efforts have been unsuccessful in persuading your insurance carrier
to pay for the treatment you needed. At this time our office can
no longer help in the fight. We feel we have adequately supported
United Concordia with enough documentation and evidence which without
a doubt supports the fact that this treatment was necessary. If
we can provide you with any materials you may need to argue rightful
payment with United Concordia please contact our office.
We look forward to continuing to deliver the quality treatment you and
your family deserves. We sincerely hope that the trust you have
in our office will not be undermined by an insurance company that has
taken in your premium dollars but is treating you like a managed care
patient. Nowhere in your insurance documents or in our agreement
does it state that United Concordia can deny payment despite overwhelming
documentation of the need for treatment.
Your treatment was delivered in good faith. At this point we are
forced to turn to our patients for payment for services rendered and
leave it to you and your employer to sort these matters out with United
Concordia.
Sincerely,
Stephen J. Markus
